According to a proclamation from Idaho’s Governor Brad Little, April 14th is being named Certified Dietary Manager’s Day. Governor Little is encouraging citizens to recognize the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) and Certified Dietary Managers “for their positive impact on quality of life for the people of Idaho.”

The recognition comes in light of the Idaho ANFP chapter’s 45th anniversary and aligns with the timing of the Idaho ANFP conference in Boise. The full verbatim of the proclamation can be viewed below:

ANFP is a national non-profit organization with over 15,000 professional members dedicated to providing optimum nutritional care to hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and other non-commercial settings through foodservice management.

Idahoan® Foods’ Corporate Executive Chef, Richard Hoelzel, serves as the Director at Large for the ANFP. In addition, Hoelzel serves as the President-Elect of the ANFP’s State of Idaho Chapter alongside current President, Steve Owen, Treasurer, Skylar Wilcox, and Secretary, Kelly Campbell. The leadership team of ANFP Idaho uses their platform to promote the organization’s initiatives on nutritional care to foodservice industry stakeholders.

“The recognition of our organization by the Governor provides a valuable platform to promote our mission to both the public and to younger generations of chefs entering the industry,” said Hoelzel. “It’s an encouragement for culinary professionals across the state of Idaho to continue to express their creativity through better-for-you foods that provide health benefits to seniors, students, and other consumers.”
